Some 20 people were detained along the route of the torch relay by Hong Kong police following minor scuffles, a change from the massive -- and sometimes violent -- protests in its previous stops in London, Paris and San Francisco.
"We just want the world to know that there are many people in Hong Kong who are supporting the Chinese people," said Albert Ho, a Hong Kong legislator.
Windsurfer Lee Lai-Shan, Hong Kong's only Olympic gold winner, began the eight-hour relay on Friday.
