Ricco takes stage nine as riders prepare for Pau to Autacam

The Italian Riccardo Ricco took the ninth stage of the Tour. He had crashed the previous day but recovered to overtake Sebastian Lang on the Col d'Aspin and finish a minute ahead of the Russian Vladimir Efimkin. The win comes after he beat Cadel Evans and Alejandro Valverde to a stage win on an uphill finish earlier this week.
Evans suffered a bad crash on a bend on stage nine but managed to finish with the leading contenders. Luxembourg's Kim Kirchen held on to his six-second lead over Evans.
