Sixteen bodies that were found at the scene of the crash site arrived at Recife's morgue for identification on Thursday. DNA test will be used to identify the victims'.

There were 228 passengers on Air France flight 447 from Rio de Janeiro to Paris, when it crashed into the Atlantic on 1 June.

A total of 41 bodies have been found around the crash site thus far. Several ships are searching the area for the remains of other victims.

Meanwhile, a French nuclear submarine using sonar equipment is looking for the planes two black box recorders, in hopes of shedding light on the origin of the crash.

A series of error messages emitted by the plane suggest that the plane’s avionics computers were receiving contradictory airspeed readings.

However, Air France’s managing director, Pierre-Henri Gourgeon said that he was “not convinced” that faulty speed monitors were the cause of the crash.
