At least 28 people have died in flooding and landslides in northern Vietnam, according to the National Flood and Storm Control Committee.
The heavy rains that began on Friday destroyed nine bridges and flooded hundreds of houses. Most of the deaths were in the mountainous Bac Kan and Lai Chau provinces.
Torrential rains have also crippled six southern provinces in China. The China Daily has reported 75 deaths, with more than 900,000 more forced out of their homes.
The heavy downpours also inundated crops and cut power across several provinces.
