At a time when the world is reeling from the effects of the economic downturn, it seems as if Africa is escaping the worst of the crisis. Vibrant, under-penetrated sectors of African economies are helping countries to escape serious meltdown, despite falling demand for commodities.

RFI talked to delegates at the International Economic Forum on Africa which brought together some of the movers and shakers in business and finance, including Javier Santiso head of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, Acha Leke a partner with McKinsey & Company and Chris Derksen from Investec Asset Management.
