3rd December 2009 marks the 25th anniversary of the Bhopal disaster, when toxic gases from the Union Carbide factory escaped, killing 8,000 people in just one night. Many more were injured, and babies are still born today with birth defects due to the pollution caused by leaking chemicals. The factory site has yet to be cleaned up. Indian-British writer Indra Sinha has worked with the survivors of Bhopal and his novel, Animal's People tells the story of the aftermath.
