Emotions run high on the opening day of the French Open

And on the second day, Monday, rain stopped play. Not before the American eighth seed Venus Williams managed to qualify for the second round at the Roland Garros stadium beating Israeli Tzipora Obziler in three sets 6-3, 4-6, 6-2. In the men's French player Michaël Llodra beat compatriot Olivier Patience in four sets 3-6, 7-6 (7/1), 6-3, 7-5.
