At the beginning of November, African music veteran Ray Lema, Cameroonian bassist Etienne Mbappé and French drummer Francis Lassus headed out to Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, to train up-and-coming musicians from West Africa. The trio's master classes at the "African Music University", organised in Ouagadougou for the third time running, put the emphasis firmly on traditional music this year.
