The French Socialist party is looking for a new leader, to be chosen at party congress in November. Segolene Royale, the Socialist candidate for president in last year's election, announced her intention to become Party Secretary on Friday. Her main rival is Paris' mayor, Bertrand Delanoe. The new leader will not just be a new face, but he or she will preside over a party in transition: the Socialists need to re-invent themselves. And choosing who will lead them in this task is not going to be easy, or pretty. Sarah Elzas reports on the fight gearing up.
