Record oil prices are having an impact on everyone’s lives here in France. Motorists are feeling the pinch and haulage firms and fishermen say their very livelihoods are threatened. But, for oil companies, exploring for the tiniest quantity of black gold has become worthwhile. They are queuing up to get permits to prospect in France. Oil resources are finite, so we have to start thinking post-oil, fast.
