US swimmer Michael Phelps stunned crowds yet again on Wednesday when he won two gold medals in the space of an hour, getting closer to his personal goal to win eight golds in Beijing. The two that he won today in 200m butterfly and as part of the four-man freestyle relay team give him a total of five gold medals so far.

Swimming is the sport to watch, as six world records were broken in the pool on Wednesday. Italy's Federica Pellegrini broke the world record in women's 200m freestyle, which she had previously set herself, with a time of 1: 54.82, while wearing two skin-tight swimsuits.
