There were more medals for Kenya on Monday in the women's 800m and the men's 3000m steeplechase. Kenya's 18-year-old Pamela Jelimo claimed Kenya's first woman's track Olympic gold when she beat compatriot Jepkosgei over two laps of the track. Morocco's Benhassi was third. Kenya dominated the men's 3000m steeplechase too with Brimin Kiprop Kipruto winning and Richard Kipkemboi Mateelong taking bronze. The two Kenyan men were separated by France's Mahiedine Mekhissi-Benbbad who finished 15 hundreths of a second behind Kipruto.
