Bigger and bolder following a four-year facelift, the International Perfume Museum in the southern French town of Grasse traces the 4,000-year history of perfume around the world: from its origins in reaching out to the spirit world to healing and modern day seduction. We visit masterpieces like French Queen Marie-Antoinette’s vanity case and talk to one of France’s greatest perfumers or “noses” about what he calls “the art of illusion”.
