Hot water under Paris?

Two kilometers under the French capital, hot water bubbles warm enough to heat thousands of homes. With fossil fuel prices unpredictable, heating companies are turning elsewhere. Geothermic heat from underground is a clean, potentially infinite source of renewable energy. The Paris area is above a basin of hot water that's just waiting to be tapped into. Now the conditions are right for that to start happening.
