The Linas-Montlhéry race track opened in 1924 and is located 24 kilometres south of Paris. It is one of France’s most famous race circuits, although a lack of maintenance at the oval-shaped track has threatened its existence.
In 2004 Linas-Montlhéry lost its racing permit after the National Speed Circuit Commission decided urgent renovation work was necessary. However this has not dampened the enthusiasm of classic car owners. And they continue to meet each year for the annual heritage festival meeting. This brings together veteran and vintage car owners who continue to raise funds for the survival of their beloved racing track. Rendezvous met with organisers and enthusiasts who have a strong passion for France’s motor-racing history.
