Has the Congo-UN offensive gone badly wrong? A UN-backed operation in the eastern DRC - Kimia II - has been suspended amid reports of war crimes by the Congolese army. Its purpose was to disarm the brutal FDLR rebel group. The UN peacekeeping mission, MONUC, claims the offensive met most objectives. But was it worth the human cost?
